Walk, hike, picnic, swim, or just take in the beautiful scenery. In addition to paddle board rentals and concessions, the Tyhee Lake Campground is onsite and open from mid-May to the end of September.
Red Bluff Provincial Park
Red Bluff Provincial Park gets its name from the iron-colored cliffs that border Babine Lake. You and your family can swim, soak in the sun, fish, or boat. Don’t forget to reserve a spot at Red Bluff Campground, also open from mid-May to the end of September.
Fort St. James National Historic Site
Take your family back in time to the latter years of the nineteenth century, the peak of the local fur trade, when you visit Fort St. James National Historic Site. Rich in history and featuring Canada’s largest collection of restored wooden buildings from the era, this destination provides a variety of activities and experiences for the whole family. They will be open for the 2024 season from May 18 to September 1.
‘Ksan Campground
Alongside the Bulkley and Skeena Rivers, you’ll find ‘Ksan Campground, a family-friendly camping spot and vacation destination. Explore the rich history of the Gitxsan Nation at ‘Ksan Village and Museum, and stay in one of the many full-service campsites on the property.
Old Hazelton Village
Old Hazelton Village invites you and your family back to pioneer times when the local Skeena River was the heart and soul of this region. The meticulously reconstructed town includes a barber shop, cafe, and trading post, and there is a sternwheeler on display on the Skeena. See history come alive!
Beaumont Provincial Park
With its sandy beach and wide range of water activities, Beaumont Provincial Park is a fun spot for every member of the family. Purden Lake Provincial Park
Situated on the gorgeous north shore of Purden Lake, this park abounds with dense woodlands and the majesty of the Cariboo and Rocky Mountains. Go for a family walk along the shore, swim, or fish in the lake. Be sure to reserve a campsite at Purden Lake Campground, open from May to September.
Whiskers Point Provincial Park
Whiskers Point Provincial Park and its onsite campground, also open from May to September, is McLeod Lake-side camping at its finest. Beaches, spruce forests, playing fields, and an adventure playground are among the many activities on hand for family members of all ages.
Ten Mile Lake Provincial Park
Boasting multiple beaches, an expansive picnicking area, and well-appointed campsites, Ten Mile Lake Provincial Park is popular with locals and visitors alike. While the park itself is open year-round, the Lakeside Campground is open from mid-May to late September.
Mount Robson Provincial Park
The second-oldest provincial park in BC, Mount Robson Provincial Park, and it offers unbeatable views of the highest peak in the Canadian Rockies and some of the best hiking and camping in the region. The park is open throughout the year, while the multiple onsite campgrounds are open seasonally.
Barkerville Historic Town & Park
Barkerville Historic Town & Park celebrates the boom years of the Gold Rush and the spirit that inspired this exciting period in BC history. Filled with heritage buildings, displays, museums, restaurants, and shopping, there is plenty to do for everyone in the family. The site is open 365 days a year for self-guided tours, but the main season, when the park is in full operation, runs from June 1 to September 8, 2024.
